The Ventura Cup

Welcome to the AOSA Optometry Student Bowl powered by Essilor page! The Essilor Optometry Student Bowl is the largest student event of the year, held at Optometry's Meeting™. Schools and Colleges of Optometry battle it out for the most sought after award in the optometry world - THE VENTURA CUP!

Each school sends one representative to this game show event that they believe can win their school the title of Optometry Student Bowl Champion. Questions from all areas of optometric education are asked, and the contestant with the most points wins! The school with the most spirit wins the opportunity to show their creativity at the next year’s event by making the “Rules Video” and the team with the best on-line spirit gets preferential seating! T-shirts rule the day and the best design will be getting some very special accolades and awards. Stay tuned!

Want to know how to become a possible contestant? Ask your school AOSA trustee. Each school hosts their own “mini-bowl” or “quiz bowl’ to choose their contestant!

Congratulations to the 2019 OSB winner

Nora Kuby from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) who takes home a variety of prizes including $1000 and the Ventura Cup (until next year’s event).

3rd place and $500 (tie): Lucas Wilson from Berkeley School of Optometry (UCB) and Brianna Farley from the Ohio State University (OSU)
